Review: Singapore Marriott Hotel Buffet

One of my favourite types of food has definitely got to be buffets. It's like you pay this fixed amount but you get to try almost everything!

It's definitely more worth it than ordering individual dishes and having a large quantity instead of a large variety.

So, last thursday, HP invited me to Marriott hotel for their Italiano Fiesta 2015 media tasting!

Conveniently located near Orchard MRT, I had no problems reaching there within 45 minutes after my class ended. (From Dover)
List of Hot buffet items

Italian maestros Christian Frigo and Daniele Trivero came up with Italian Antipasti Menu for Marriott Cafe@ Singapore Marriott Hotel in January. The Antipasti Menu is only available in the month of January and February.
Here are some of their hot dishes:
Bacon Wrapped prunes with goat cheese
This is one very special dish that I would like to commend. The bacons are cooked so nicely that they brought out the sweetness in the prunes and the goat cheese complemented the whole dish well.
Sadly, my photography skills for food is not good and this photo does not do this dish any justice:(

Mix bruschetta-Olive plate, tomato & Bell pepper caponata
Pinzimonio// Vegetable crudites, Vinaigrette, Spicy mayo, Capers & Tuna sauce
Gratinated mussels with spicy tomato Arrabbiata
These mussels are so good that I had three of them! Note: I do not eat mussels for no reason usually.
The sweetness in the mussel was well brought out!

Soft pannacotta with chocolate crumble & balsamic strawberries
So after trying the dishes the chefs recommended, we went to explore the buffet line!

Marriott hotel has this part of the buffet whereby you can choose the ingredients and sauce to make your own unique pasta!

Here's my combination:

I was very attracted by their dessert section because there was just too many to choose from! Most of the buffets that I went before do not have many dessert choices as them!
Cakes and more cakes

Marshmallow heaven
The marshmallows are so pretty and tasty! I tried the strawberry one and I could tell that it was freshly made! Definitely different from the usual commercialised ones.

Their ice cream looked so good that I ate some in between the main dishes. Plus, they are changed after every buffet slots(witnessed this myself) so yay to fresh ice creams!!
Loved the caramel chips! The strawberry ice cream tasted just right but the mango one was a little too sweet for my liking.   The red things are gummy worms in case you are wondering. All I can say is that gummy worms do not go well with ice cream. Yeap, they harden and felt more like rocky worms. :(
My creation above and Elizabeth's creation below:)
