JJ Hair Identity

It’s been more than a year since i've dyed my hair black and cut it short as it was rather damaged previously and i could not have vibrantly colored hair due to work purposes.

Hence, this time, while i visited J&J Hair Identity, a Katong hair salon, i requested for a subtle hair color that was suitable for me as well as presentable on the professional front. 

When i visited the salon, i learnt that they use Natulique products, which are made from Certified Organic ingredients.

Due to what i learnt from my course of study, i was glad to know that Natulique is an ECOCERT certified hair care. Being Eco certified would mean that these products would not harm the environment unlike usual hair dyes which contain ammonium components. These ammonium compounds would somehow enter the drains and eventually into our lakes and reservoirs, which are a source of our drinking water.

ECOCERT demands a requirement level that is superior to conventional regulations governing cosmetics, by which to irrefutably guarantee genuine environmentally friendly methods during production, while also promoting the use of natural substances exceeding superior ecological quality. 

However, when i first heard of organic hair dyes, the impression i received would be that the colors would be just dark shades of brown to black.

Upon visiting J&J Hair Identity, i found out that this was not true, bright stunning colors could be done too!

Going back to my hair, Jac did an original mix of colors and did Natulique Floral series for me!

He chose a brown hair base for me, with purple highlights underneath and self-created purplish-blonde highlights on the crown.

I must mention that i really loved the final outcome! Even though i bleached my hair for this, my friends all agreed that it wasn't damaged and still felt soft! Hence, J&J Hair Identity is definitely a hair salon in Singapore that is reliable and professional.

Where your wishes take off @ 313

I've always seen people in TV writing their wishes on sky lanterns and setting them off and to set off my very own sky lantern has been on my to do list for quite some time!

Traditionally practiced in Taiwan, hand-written lanterns are lit up and released into the sky on the 15th day of Chinese New Year which symbolises good luck and to cast away negativity.

 

However, it is not convenient for us to set off one in Singapore due to the many buildings as well as them being an obstruction for air crafts.

I've never thought that I would be able to set a sky lantern off in Singapore but thanks to 313@Somerset, my wish came true last friday!


From 28 January 2016 to 6 Febuary 2016, a state of the art interactive digital sky lantern display themed "Where your wishes take off @313" is set up in the level 1 atrium of Somerset 313.

Firstly, we start off by logging in to our Facebook account (You can log in without Facebook too but the lantern won't look as nice)

Next, we can then choose the background of our lantern! 

To add on, by logging into Facebook, your profile picture will appear at the top of the sky lantern.

After selecting your background, you can then now customize your wishes!

And you're then ready to release you wish into the big digital screen!!

Create a new wish if you want!

And you can create as many wishes as you want!!

Bio Revive

Having a healthy scalp is very important because our hair reflects a lot about our self esteem and attitude. I believe, with gorgeous hair, anyone can conquer the world.

Well, we can do treatments to our hair ends and everything but if we do not take care of our scalp, no matter what treatments we do, the root of the problem will not be resolved.

There are 8 types of alopecia (hair loss) that exist and there are many different factors that contribute to unhealthy scalp and hence, resulting in alopecia. 

Some of the more common factors that contribute to alopecia are:

1. Reduction in metabolic functions of hair follicles and hair bulbs. If the flow of blood in the capillaries surrounding the hair follicles and dermal papilla is reduced, the supply of nutrients to the dermal papilla and hair matrix will not be sufficient, hence impairing cell metabolism and having an adverse effect on hair growth.

2. Poor Nutrition and stress.

3. Reduction in scalp physiological functions. Ecessive build-up of dandruff flakes will block the pores of the scalp through which hairs exit the epidermis. 

But fear not, I shall introduce you to Bio Revive today, which is a centre focusing on how you can tackle your hair loss issues! 

About two weeks ago, I headed down to Bio Revive for their signature Scalp Restoration & Hair Loss Treatment. I was elated for the treatment as about a month prior to the treatment, I just recovered from medication for my scalp as I was infected with hairlice after my overseas trip.

Firstly, my consultant started off by treating my hair with high frequency.

I was quite amazed by the changes because as seen from the photos, my hair follicles can be seen to be much healthier! The scalp area is less red and also cleaner!! 

Overall, I enjoyed the whole treatment process a lot because my consultant was really very friendly and I felt really relaxed throughout my whole treatment. (not saying this because its a sponsored post but because its really like that!)

Are you all preparing for CNY? Because I sure am!!

With less than a month to the festive where we get angbaos (Plus all sorts of questions from our relatives), we definitely want to make sure that we are looking our best during CNY.

Other than focusing just on dressing, we must ensure that our skin is at its best too!

As seen from the photo, my trouble areas was that my T-zone had some blackheads and the pores were slightly open. 

Furthermore, my skin tone was not very even and that my skin was a tat dry. 

For the Aqua Peel treatment, the main actives of the treatment are AHAs and BHAs.

Prior to the facial treatment, I told them that I did not want any extractions because I don't really trust anyone other than myself with squeezing my face. 

However, throughout the treatment, I could tell that my face was in good hands and hence, when they asked if they could do extractions, I said yes!

The main differences I noticed in my skin would definitely be the softness! My skin felt like baby skin and I kept asking my friends to touch my face LOL. Also, the pores were very much cleansed and my pores appeared smaller! My skin tone became more even and had more radiance in it.
